Brass Chandelier - German Modernism
- sold -
Very beautiful, timelessly elegant candlestick by the well-known metal artist Ursula Bach-Wild (1903-1987), Münster / Westphalia. The candlestick, handmade from one piece of brass around 1930, impresses with its aesthetically beautiful shape in addition to the handcrafted, beautiful forged surface. Everything is rounded.
Like a walking figure, with one foot going forward and the other backwards, the brass sheet is divided into 3 levels, each of holding a candle. The drip trays with spikes perfectly reflect the curves.
Signed on the underside with Bach-Wild, Münster in Westphalia.
Like other metal artists of their time, be it Karl Raichle, Przyrembel, Hayno Focken etc., the objects impress with a certain simplicity of form.
