Carl Sigmund Luber Jugendstil Tile
Carl Sigmund Luber for Johann von Schwarz
A beautiful, naturalistic, large, oval, geometric Art Nouveau tile from the period 1896-1906.
A three-dimensional, relief-like surface in polychrome colors.
Designed by Carl Sigmund Luber for Johann von Schwarz.
This tile depicts a complete landscape in itself.
It was not intended as a tile in conjunction with other tiles in a mortar bed, but rather as a standalone work of art.
There are variations of this motif with the two swans.
The tile is marked on the reverse with the serial number 1929 and the number 38 (for the width in cm).
