German Modernism - Bauhaus Lamp 1920s
Extremely elegant ceiling light from the 1920s / 30s by Schwintzer & Gräff - Berlin.
Timeless, sophisticated, and in the style of the new objectivity of German modernism, as realized by the Bauhaus, Burg Giebichenstein and open-minded companies and designers of the time.
The lamp consists of mouth-blown satin glass, tapered concave and polished brass parts.
The 2 brass sockets in the mounted S-shape are just as original as all the other attachments.
The same E27 sockets are marked with DRP for Deutsches Reichs Patent.
If a light switch to be regulated is installed, we recommend installing dimmable bulbs (LED or classic),
to underline the character of this lamp.
It was completely disassembled and cleaned.
A small handwritten note written in Sütterlin (old german type of writing) with Schwintzer&Gräff was found inside the lower conical brass outfit. The tapered ceiling canopy is also a style element often used by this company.
The design itself could go back to Franz Haegele.
