H. Buchrucker Candlestick 1930s Modernism

Harald Buchrucker Candlestick

An elegantly simple candlestick from the German modernist period of the 1930s.
Created by the workshop of Harald Buchrucker, established in Ludwigsburg in 1931.
His work was featured in exhibitions such as the Grassi Fair in Leipzig, the 1937 Paris World’s Fair, and the 1938 International Crafts Fair in Berlin, where he received various awards for his designs.
During the 1930s, he primarily crafted items made of pewter, while in the post-war period, he increasingly incorporated copper and brass into his work.
This two-light candlestick is a 1930s design—typically found in pewter—but this particular version is crafted from brass, making it exceptionally rare.
