HAYNO FOCKEN (1905 - 1968)
This elegantly shaped bowl is offered by the important metal sculptor Hayno Focken.
Focken was at the Burg Giebichenstein Design and Art School in Halle (Saale), which was connected to the ideas of the German Werkbund and the Bauhaus. From 1932 he worked as a freelance metal sculptor in Lahr, Baden-Württemberg. His works demonstrate a simple, timeless elegance and are represented in many museums and collections around the world.
The bowl offered here was probably made in the 1930s and has an unusual and elegant boat shape. Hand-driven brass with an oval heel.
Marked on the underside with his signet HF.
