Kaiser Idell Tablelamp 6786
Kaiser Idell 6786 - German Mid Century Design
This wonderful table lamp is offered by Kaiser Leuchten Neheim.
It is the 6786 model, which for the first time in the Idell lights had a one-piece lampshade and ushered in the modern design of the 1950s at Kaiser. The base and chrome-plated lamp arm are identical to many other Idell models...an advantage of the modular system developed by Christian Dell.
This Idell 6786 has the red first coat, which goes by the beautiful name of Turkish red.
Since Kaiser Idell is now a Louis Poulsen (DK) brand, Danish red would also fit...especially in connection with the white inner shade, the white push button, cable outlet and white cable/plug.
Red is also far less common in direct comparison to Elbgrün.
The lamp was completely disassembled.
All painted parts were deep cleaned in several steps, polished to a high gloss and preserved with a ph-neutral museum wax. The paint has a wonderful depth and is also wonderfully smooth to the touch.
Of course, the patina remained and remains part of this classic.
The chromed parts like lamp arm and screws were also polished.
It is signed on the lampshade with a sticker from Kaiser Leuchten. A new felt was applied to the underside to protect the table.
