Karlsruhe majolica - Else Bach

Beautiful monochrome ceramic sculpture of two young horses/foals.
Design by Else Bach (1899-1951) for the Karlsruhe Majolika, 1930s.
The horses stand side by side, slightly offset, on a rectangular plinth with an alert, inquisitive attitude and their heads raised. Very plastic and lifelike shape.
Brown, dull shard.
Marked on the underside with model number 4839 and the majolica manufacture stamp.
Also signed with Bach on the side of the plinth.
Height ~ 40cm.
Plinth: 23.5 x 15.5 cm
Total width/depth: ~ 29 x 18 cm.
Condition: Generally good condition. No breaks. 3 chips on the plinth and 1 chip on each ear of the horses.
