Le Phare - Lausanne tablelamp

Le Phare - Lausanne

A very elegant desk/table and wall lamp from the 1930s.
Swiss Modernism - in the style of the Bauhaus tradition.
The lamp, made of lacquered aluminum sheet, nickel-plated brass, and a solid iron core, impresses with its timeless design, functionality, and venerable patina.

The design is attributed to Christian Dell, who worked as a master craftsman at the Bauhaus and whose lighting designs were also manufactured in Switzerland by Belmag and BAG Turgi, among others. They also share the patented joint used here, which is even marked with a patent inscription.
The simple geometric design of the shade and base reflects modernism, as does the thoughtful yet simple flexibility.
It can be placed on a table and adjusted, or, thanks to a screw/nail recess in the base, hung on a wall like a picture.
The manufacturer was Le Phare, a Lausanne-based company that produced and exported modernist lighting fixtures in the 1930s and 40s. It is signed "Le Phare Lausanne" on the joint and the base.

It was completely disassembled and cleaned according to conservation/museum standards, preserving the original components.
All painted parts of the shade and base retain their original, deep-cleaned, and preserved paint.
The color is a light gray-green (celadon/reseda green). A rare but very beautiful color for lighting.
The joints and the lamp arm are made of polished, nickel-plated brass.
The brass and Bakelite lamp socket and the push-button switch have been left in their original condition to maintain the lamp's authenticity.
