Lothar Klute - Schmallenberg 1946 - 2023

Exceptionally interesting candlestick ensemble in bronze and glass.
The set offered here consists of two different, yet wonderfully complementary bronze works.

Candlestick No. 1 is made of bronze in the brutalist style, has a round base, a square tapered stem, and a bud that opens like a rose, in which you can place the candle.
Very interesting and expressive due to its seemingly carved, textured surface.
Signed on the base with an artist's mark - which we unfortunately cannot currently identify.

  • Height 30 cm
  • Base diameter 9.5 cm

Matching Candlestick No. 2, although by a different artist.
This candlestick, also made of bronze, by the well-known artist Lothar Klute (1946-2023), has a special feature in combination with hand-crafted glass.
The basic concept of a square base with a straight stem that blossoms is
comparable to candlestick No. 1. Here, however, the flower opens in the form of a wild glass blossom.
The glass, like the bronze itself, is wild and unstructured, like ice glass, handcrafted in various thicknesses and shapes.
This glass is attached to the candlestick in its original form. A candle can be placed in the center as usual.
Signed on the base with Lothar Klute's artist's mark.

  • Height 35.5 cm
  • Width of glass blossom 16.5 cm
  • Width of base 11 cm

Both candlesticks are in wonderful condition – without defects.
