Lumina Zelig Halogen lamp
LUMINA Zelig table lamp - Italy
Wonderful and multifunctional table/floor lamp from Lumina -Italy.
Model Zelig by designer Walter A.Monici, late 1980s.
This lamp, equipped with halogen technology, impresses with its incredible versatility, quality and timelessness.
Anyone who is interested in mechanics and the interaction of the lever arm, joints and balance will recognize the ingeniousness of this lamp.
The basic principle goes back to the human arm, which, alongside Monici, George Carwandine implemented with the Anglepoise lamp and Hadrill & Horstman with the Simplus lamp in the 1930s.
Every movement of an arm automatically results in a counter-movement of the counterweight, so that the lamp is always balanced and maintains its position without tipping forward or backward.
It is very easy to adjust.
This means you can set the arms in an adjustable bent position, as well as completely stretched out.
Each of these adjusted positions is mounted on the base so that it can rotate freely, and thanks to the balance it holds every position without having to adjust wing screws or similar like at other lights.
In addition, the lampshade can be rotated inward, as can the lamp head attached to the upper arm.
Thanks to all these elegantly used joints and bearings, the lamp is multifunctional and was and still is popular and valued by architects, designers and creative professions.
The base, which contains the electrics such as transformers etc., is designed in an optical cone shape.
However, one half seems to be "missing". At this point the counterweight can slide freely past the base.
You can switch the light into two light levels.
The quality is also convincing..., satin black painted aluminum, valuable in terms of material and timeless in color.
Inscribed on the underside with Lumina, Zelig and A.Monici.
