Mid Century Cosack Diabolo Crowfood Lamp
Beautiful German mid-century design classic
Offered is this beautiful table lamp from the late 1950s.
The model was created based on a design by Karl Heinz Kinsky for Gebr. Cosack Leuchten in Neheim -Germany.
It is often erroneously attributed to Louis Kalff (with Philipps) - which is unfortunately a recurring error.
The model is characterized by its airy elegance.
The diabolo-formed shade made of aluminum is painted with cream-colored wrinkle finish.
This type of wrinkle finish, which has a silky sheen, was also used on the black-lacquered three-leg cast base.
Both parts are connected by the elegantly curved and highly polished brass arm with ball joint.
The lamp was completely disassembled, cleaned, polished and preserved and protected with a special colorless ph-neutral museum wax.
The lacquer, the brass arm as well as all built-in components are in a very nice original condition with only selective age-related patina and signs of wear.
