A beautiful 4 flame pure silver chandelier by Julius Kaeser & Alfred Uhlmann - Schwäbisch Gmünd/Germany.
Kaeser & Uhlmann - a Jewish company specialized in silverware of the emerging modernist age in the style of the new objectivity and the design language of the Bauhaus, Burg Giebichenstein etc. The company only existed from 1920-1934,
since Alfred Uhlmann emigrated to Palestine in 1934 - one year after the Seizure of power by the National Socialists and the associated reprisals against Jewish fellow citizens and their businesses.
This elegant candlestick is made of solid silver, is signed in the oval base with the maker's mark KU (often erroneously read as HKJ), as well as the silver hallmark 835 with crescent moon and crown next to the model number.
The drip trays are removable. Timeless elegance.
