WMF Ikora Table Lamp 1927-1954

Beautiful elegant and enchanting WMF table lamp from the Ikora series.
Polychrome, multi-layered glass, designed by Karl Wiedmann for the Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik (WMF)
Manufactured between 1927 and 1954.

WMF Ikora lamps are characterized by their unique glass compositions of multicolored, intertwined, mixed, and blended glass, air bubbles, and colors. Each piece of glass is unique, even if it is a model with the same basic shape. There are also small models, larger models, with one socket or with multiple sockets.
This model is no exception. It features a bulbous base with a chrome-plated metal mount and a total of three sockets.
The visible two E27 sockets are fixed to the height-adjustable shade section of the fixture, while a small E14 socket is located in the concealed part of the fixture within the glass body.
These sockets can be switched on and off separately using the original Bakelite switch.

The fixture is height-adjustable, allowing it to be visually adjusted to suit the shape of the shade used.
The overall height is adjustable between 48 and 57 cm.
The diameter of the reddish glass-base is approximately 22 cm.
The lamp will be sold without a shade.
The choice of size, shape, color, and texture is therefore up to the future owner.

The lamp was completely disassembled, cleaned, polished, and reassembled to its original, historical condition.
(Due to the lamp's original, historical wiring (off, base on/shade off, everything on, base off/shade on) in combination with the original Bakelite cord switch, this lamp was and is not grounded.)
It is signed with the WMF Ikora tower mark on the base.

This is a historical/antique item with used electrical components, sold as a collector's item, for which the european GPSR (since December 13, 2024) does not apply. Individual components may be several decades old and no longer meet current standards, even if the item appears to be functional. Should you wish to use the item, you must have it inspected by a certified electrician at your own expense.
Please also note:
Due to the original historical tyoe of wiring of the lamp (off, base on/shade off, everything on, base off/shade on) in combination with the historical Bakelite cord switch, this lamp is not grounded.

The lamp is sold without a light bulb.
